Tricia McKay is known for her integrity, astuteness, and empathic approach. She works to build trust and shared agreements with an open mind and heart, as well as a sense of humor.

Tricia is a sought-after expert in strategy development, donor advising, new program design, facilitation, community collaborations and thought partnership with leaders. With more than 25 years in the field, she has a deep understanding of the philanthropic sector and the nonprofit ecosystem. She has worked with numerous foundations, nonprofits, individuals, families, and businesses to achieve their desired social impact. 

Most recently, Tricia was a partner at Luma Consulting. Her clients included foundations, individuals, families, and corporations. Tricia previously was Executive Director of the Medina Foundation and helped establish the Craig and Susan McCaw Foundation, serving as its first director. Tricia also has strong roots in direct service nonprofits. She helped start Team Read, a thriving cross-age tutoring program with 25 years of success in the Seattle Public Schools. She served as its director for five years.

Tricia serves on the board of FareStart and is the immediate past Chair. She is a graduate of the University of Washington and completed two executive programs at Stanford University focusing on Philanthropy Leaders and Social Entrepreneurism. Seattle Magazine has named Tricia one of Seattle’s “20 Most Influential People” and she was included among the region’s “Women of Influence” by the Puget Sound Business Journal.

At TMC, it can be effective to team up on certain projects.  Carefully selected colleagues may contribute their skills and expertise to specific elements of a project in a cost-effective, non-duplicative way.
